Where the debt is below $10,000 you can apply to the Magistrates Court in a minor case claim to recover debts. We can assist with the preparation of an application, however, it is usually more cost effective if you represent yourself in these matters. Note, however, that corporations must act through a solicitor in court proceedings.

Where the debt is greater than $10,000 but less than $75,000 the matter will still be resolved by the Magistrates Court but in a general procedure claim. Where a debt is greater than $75,000 but less than $750,000 the matter will be resolved in the District Court of Western Australia.

A debt greater than $750,000 must be resolved by the Supreme Court of Western Australia. In relation to any application contained in this paragraph we can assist in the preparation and represent you at any of the Courts.
